Wow, things are really starting to happen with the ministry. We are excited to announce that not only is our tax-exempt status being filed as soon as it is reviewed on Thursday but it is also paid off as of last Thursday. Thanks to a last minute donation. Upon filing (hopefully Friday) we could be tax-exempt in as little as 3 weeks.
We are still advertising on the billboards and our views are up. We are also going to start interviews with newspapers and sending in unsolicited articles to magazines. We have also in this last month acquired a booth to start being able to go to different venues and sharing what we are doing. We are currently working on a schedule for the booth. If you would like to have us book at a venue near you, feel free to give us a call also, we are finding that fees are attached to going to venues. If you are willing to fund a venue please contact us. We look forward to seeing you guys out and about. Blessings, Surviving Home (Bitsy and Jeremy Zimmer)

Boy has it ever been a busy last month. It seems a whirlwind but we have gotten so much accomplished. We are so excited to share what we have been up to.
We bought our reboot program and secured a location for our first reboot program. We also set a date for our first meeting. We are hopeful that there will be 5-7 veterans with their significant others attending this class. It will be held in Newberg, Oregon. (If you are interested in signing up or finding a program close to you please go to Rebootrecovery.com.) Suppers and childcare will be provided. We have started advertising! We are so excited that we found an affordable way to advertise. We are currently advertising on Facebook, and over several billboards in the Spokane, Boise and Portland area. We are also accepting speaking engagements as the Lord opens up the opportunities. Our board decided to hire a company to file our 501C3 (Tax exempt status.) We are so happy they decided to do that. They have said that we are able to file for the easier form and that we should be tax exempt in as little as 3 weeks from filing. (We're hoping to file in the next week or two.) However, with that, we are also needing to amp up the fund raising, as the ministry needs to pay $600 for the companies hire and about $300 to fill with the IRS. We are keeping track of who donates as when we are approved they go back to the date of donations from the filing with the state. So, we will be sending out tax deductible receipts at the time of approval. We are really excited about almost being done with this part of the start up. (We love the hands on part of helping people, but the paperwork end isn't either of our favorite jobs.) If you are in the area and would like to volunteer to assist in the reboot program we are holding please feel free to get in contact with us and we will find a spot to use your willingness to help. We are so appreciative of your love and support for our ministry. Wishing many blessings upon you, Bitsy and Jeremy. Wow, it has been a totally crazy last couple of weeks but we are excited to announce the strides we have made in Surviving Home this last few weeks.
Our board decided to hire a company that will do our tax exempt status for us. They guarantee that we will have our status in as little as 3-6 months. However that will cost us quite a bit of money to do. So, good bye computer in the fundraising fund and hello our filing company. We received a computer on donations that will allow us to bridge the gap until we are able to afford a better business computer. So we are blessed that the same amount we need for fundraising will cover the extra cost of hiring our 501C3 done. We are amazed at the outcry from young people who are inquiring about suicide support groups, depression, anxiety etc. This is opening our eyes and once again challenging our program to figure out how to meet all of the demand that there is in this field. We are currently looking for ways to best reach individuals needing help etc. Please feel free to comment about ideas you may have in reaching out to our young people. They are America's tomorrow. Let's make sure they are healthy, happy and well supported. We are so excited to announce that we have gotten the curriculum for a 12 week veterans class that gives practical skills to aid in and heal the wounds (mental, physical and spiritual) received during their service. We have the support of our local church and are really excited to get this up and going. We are hoping to launch the start of our curriculum (This program) in the next 8 weeks. We are looking forward to finally being able to give back to the Veterans who have sacrificed so much for us. This program is for veterans and their significant others. Child care is provided and there will be a light meal before the class. If you would like to check out the program please go to rebootrecovery.com. If you would like to donate to help support this class and repeat reboot recovery classes please feel free to use the donate button below. Each donation helps us reach one more struggling veteran. Jeremy has been asked to give his testimony at a second church in our local area and we are excited to see who God would have us connect to through this ministry. Blessings, Bitsy |
