As each day passes, I'm learning more and more about the unknown benefits of being a nonprofit organization. Up until this point, everything we did was either out of pocket or with donations from family and friends. Somehow the door of optimism has opened slightly more when I started to discover free or low cost services for our organization. The two big ones that I have started exploring was a site called techsoup.org which offers the discounted software... This makes good programs like Adobe Creative Suite affordable.
The second one was Google for Nonprofits... This is the one I am really excited about. Our board members were looking for a way to streamline document sharing and editing instead of just through email. This is where I learned about Gsuite. It gives us the ability to work with documents, allows for video conference calls, and even gave us the ability to get email addresses with the @survivinghome.org domain name at no extra cost. This was a huge savings! On top of that, they turned our YouTube channel into a nonprofit channel with benefits I haven't really looked into yet but it's available. Aaaaand the big one... Adwords Advertising Grants. They are going to GIVE US up to $10,000 per month in FREE advertising! My mind doesn't even think in numbers that big. We are a simple small organization that could never afford that much advertising. This will enable us to reach more people than ever before. Now that I've started the topic, I want to hear back from you. What other resources are available to nonprofits that we don't know about?
